Top Place To Stay In Copenhagen Ibsens Hotel
Looking for a place to stay in Copenhagen that's both centrally located and has everything you need for the perfect night's sleep? Look no further, you've found Ibsens Hotel.
We stayed at the Ibsens Hotel for two nights and this is what we thought:
Check-in
First of all the hotel is super easy to find thanks to the clear signs. Secondly, the lady on reception was one of the nicest receptionist we've ever met at a hotel, she was really enthusiastic and funny!
Our Room
Our room was on the sixth floor - rooms here are slightly bigger but with a lower ceiling as you are under the roof. The low ceiling wasn't a problem for us though - in Denmark I am shorter than everyone so it was nice to be in a me-sized room, and I loved the beams! And even Tanbay, at 6ft, didn't have to stoop or anything.
There was a lot of light in our room and through the windows we could see some beautiful, typical Danish buildings.
Our bed was so comfortable! And the cutest thing was under the bed - a sign that said that they had cleaned under there, and not to worry they'd checked for monsters!! How cute is that?
Additionally, our room had fast wifi, a TV, a shower room and a large desk.
Breakfast
I was super impressed by breakfast. It was Nordic style which meant cereals, berries, nuts and filling bread. Of course it meant cold cuts and cheese too, but I was super impressed that they cater to vegans really well: the cereals, berries, nuts and bread which I just mentioned, as well as apples, juice, good coffee, jams AND soy milk!
I didn't expect that at all, it was so nice to be able to eat cereal in a hotel for once.

Happy hour
Ibsens Hotel do a happy hour! Go down at 5pm for drinks and small snacks: wine, beer, apple juice, crisps, peanuts and more.
The beer and the apple juice were both Danish! And they had an awesome Danish band playing, it was the perfect start to our evening.

The Ibsens Hotel is in a great location, you can walk to all the main attractions like Christiana (the hippy commune) and Nyhavn (the insta-good street). If you can't or won't walk too far, you can get the tube to these spots too - the tube station is just 5 minutes walk from Ibsens.
There's also a supermarket right on Ibsens doorstep and the main train station is less than 20 minutes away.
How to get to Ibsens Hotel
This summer we had Interrail passes to get round Europe, we highly recommend these it was a great way to see Scandinavia and central Europe.
Like I said, the main train station is less than 20 minutes from Ibsens.
