No Turning Back

Ladies, it is officially game time. You’ve worked so hard up to this point, and now you’ve got to maintain and stay confident. Your months, hours, and maybe even years of preparation have brought you to this moment. There is no turning back, your eyes need to be on the job.

Contestants can go one of two ways at this point. They can sky rocket with confidence or wonder what-if, question everything, and doubt their ability. We want the first of the two. We can’t look back - the International crown isn't there. It is in the future, the very near future.

We cannot allow our thoughts to wonder “What-if I had done this…” or “Wow, that contestant is way better than me…” No, we must focus on being the best version of ourself. You have had the most amount of experience being you, there is no one better at being you. The judges want to see YOU. We must look forward to the kind of Miss International we want to be and can be.

Once one phase of competition is over, let it go. There is nothing you can do to change it. We can’t look back and say, “I wish I would have said this (or done this)!” Let it go, don’t look back, and focus on the next area of competition. Each phase is a new opportunity to make an impression on the judges.

When it gets to finale night, you have to remember how far you’ve come. Look at where you first started as a representative and look at where you are now. There’s no turning back to who you were… you’ve grown and become stronger! Stand confident in the new and improved version of you.

After the lights have dimmed and you’re back in your room after crowning… you either will or will not be Miss International. Although there is only one crown, we all have the opportunity to keep looking forward. Instead of sulking, focus your eyes on celebrating your accomplishments and being the best Queen you can for the rest of the time the crown is on your pretty little head. Your job is not over after Internationals… whether you have the International crown or not… you are still the Queen.

There is no turning back ladies, only moving forward confident in who we are.
