Hotel Santa Brigida Naples

Hotel Santa Brigida is a bespoke, boutique hotel with unique rooms and complimentary buffet breakfast.

It's located in one of the best spots in Naples: close to popular tourist attractions, the beach and the metro.

We stayed for one night and this is what we thought:

Check-in
The Hotel Santa Brigida is in a great location - just a few minutes walk from the metro station (Municipio). It's located at number 6 Via Santa Brigida (easy name to remember, and via = street).

This spot is really easy to find (all the buildings are clearly numbered), but once you get to number 6 you have to look quite closely for the sign as it's quite small. This seems to be a common theme in Italy - the hotels are almost a secret because the signs are small - we've walked straight past so many hotels! But keep your eyes peeled (unlike we did) and you'll be fine.

Once we'd made sure we were at the correct spot, we rung the buzzer and were buzzed in. Hotel Santa Brigida is on the third floor, but there is a small lift (big enough for us both and our suitcase).

Check-in was quick and easy and we were happy to see a welcome drink - this was the first time we'd had a welcome drink in Italy.

Our room

We were in a superior room which was stylishly decorated, had a comfy bed and an ensuite with a hydromassage shower.

Our favourite thing about our room was the balcony, it was so cool to be able to look down on the street below.

The balcony actually gave us a view from two sides of the building, and on one side we could see the volcano!

Although we were right in the centre of the city, we didn't hear street noise (thanks to the soundproof windows) and had a perfect night's sleep. The street seemed to be pedestrian only -though I'm sure vehicles can go down there, my point is you don't have to worry about sleeping above a busy street.

Breakfast

Breakfast was buffet style and beautifully laid out. There were a few vegan options - fruit and veg - and also a vegan croissant, but unfortunately because the breakfast isn't labelled, it was hard to tell which one it was. There are plenty of vegetarian options.

We liked that the breakfast was finger-food style and I particularly enjoyed the pickled peppers - very Italian.

Although we enjoyed the breakfast, a few labels would have been a nice touch, I'm just being picky though - I could have easily asked the nice member of staff.

The coffee was Italian of course and delicious.

Location

Hotel Santa Brigida is in an excellent location - very close to the metro and to tourist sites like:

Castel Nuovo (New Castle), also known as Maschio Angioino  (Angevin Keep) which is a mediaeval castle and one of the most iconic sights in Naples. This is a great landmark for taxis to drop you off at/for you to ask to directions to.

Piazza Del Plebiscito - a large public square and is also very close-by.

We just loved that we could step outside and be right in the heart of Naples, there's real beauty in walking around the cobbled streets and getting lost here.

Conclusion
All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Santa Brigida, the room was comfortable and in a really great location, the breakfast looked and tasted delicious and we would go back next time we are in Naples.
