Artist Residence The Best Located Hotel in London
Artist Residence
The Best Located Hotel in London
Artist Residence is located less than a stone's throw away from Victoria Station and the heart of London, but still manages to be in a peaceful location, meaning that this hotel might well have the best location in London.
We stayed for the night and this is what we thought:
Check-In
Check-in was in a cute, comfy, arty area which made us feel immediately relaxed and at home. There was art work everywhere which continued all the way up the staircase: super cool pieces e.g. a hologram of Kate Moss winking and a framed selection of gummy bears:
Our Room
Our Room
Our room was spacious and filled with lots of natural light. We had a massive super-king size bed, which was extremely comfy (due no doubt to the Egyptian cotton linen).
The room also had many cute pieces of vintage furniture including a Smeg mini-fridge.
We loved how the bathroom door was labelled 'Wash & Brush'!
We also loved that the room was filled with some more beautiful art pieces. Artist Residence really do live up to their name! Our personal favourite was this one:

The room was also equipped with complimentary tea and biscuits; so British!
The bathroom had a massive rainfall shower and all the toiletries were made in the UK:
And the toiletries all came in big bottles - we recently read a very good blog post about how to be environmentally friendly whilst travelling; one of the points was to steer clear of hotels which offer tiny bottles of shampoo/conditioner - as these are very wasteful, plastic wise.
So we were pleased to see that the Artist Residence had large bottles, and that the products smelt divine.
Cocktails
Located in the cellar of Artist Residence is Clarendon Cocktail Cellar which serves the most delicious cocktails in a cool, suave setting. We went for a cocktail on a Tuesday evening and found out that it was 'Taste Tuesday': every Tuesday, the cocktail artists go down to the local markets to pick the freshest ingredients to create brand new cocktails with.
I had an 'Un-Earthed': Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Lime, Grapefruit, Beet Grenadine, Honey and Burlesque Bitters; Tanbay had a 'Rotary Club': Merlet VSOP Cognac, Yellow Chartreuse, Vanilla-Infused Maple, Lemon, Raspberry and Egg White.
My Un-Earthed was absolutely divine - that may not be that surprising as I absolutely love bitter flavours, however, I have often tried something that claimed to be 'lemony' or 'grapefruity' or 'bitter' and been disappointed with the sweetness of it; not so here! It was perfectly bitter.

I also tried Tanbay's Rotary Club, which was delicious too, though not quite in the same league as my bitter baby.
Our cocktails came with complimentary popcorn and cucumber water, and our bar tender was lovely and chatty.
Right next to the bar, was the table tennis room!
Breakfast
Breakfast was delicious. I had poached eggs with avocado, rocket and chilli on rye bread, grapefruit juice and fresh coffee. It was all perfect.
Tanbay had scrambled eggs on toast, hot chocolate and orange juice, which was also perfect. There are also meat options available.
Location
Artist Residence Hotel is in the absolute perfect location. It manages to be simultaneously in the centre of London but still in a peaceful area.
Artist Residence is located less than five minutes walk from Victoria Train Station and less than three minutes from Victoria Coach Station. From these two places you can reach pretty much anywhere in London, the UK and Europe!
Four of the top ten tourist attractions in London - The Houses of Parliament & Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the London Eye and Buckingham Palace are all only a 20 minute walk from Artist Residence - it cannot be beaten as a sightseeing base!
And the Natural History Museum and the V&A are only 30 minutes walk away.

But Artist Residence is still in a residential area, making it very quiet and peaceful - we kept having to remind ourselves how central we were - it was perfect!

Conclusion
Honestly, the location of Artist Residence alone was enough to impress us, but add the comfiness and coolness of the hotel on top of this and you can see why we absolutely loved everything about our stay and think you will too!
To book your own room, head over to their website: artistresidencelondon.co.uk and/or find them on TripAdvisor. Make sure you follow them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter too!
Note: they also have hotels in Brighton and Cornwall, which we're sure are equally as lovely - though we haven't visited them yet!
Disclaimer: Travelling Weasels were invited as guests of the Artist Residence, but all opinions are our own as always, we would never recommend anything we haven't personally tried and loved, because we don't want to annoy you :)
