Nineteen - The Most Luxurious B&B Just a Pebble's Throw From Brighton Beach
Are you looking for the best luxury Bed and Breakfast in Brighton? Look no further, you've found it at Nineteen!
This intimate and beautiful B and B is in the perfect spot in Brighton, right next to Brighton Beach.
We stayed the night and this is what we thought:
The Welcome
Nineteen is located in a Victorian Townhouse. These are very typical in the UK and thus very authentic.
We were greeted by the owners, Mark and Arif, who were absolutely lovely. Mark gave us lots of useful insider tips for Brighton and a brief history of this cool city. It was clear he loved Brighton to bits and his witty anecdotes made us feel like we were hanging out with a friend.
With his help, and a handy map that he'd given us, we made a great plan of what to see and do in Brighton.
Our room
Our Superior King Room was on the top floor, with a view of the sea. We had a massive comfy bed with cute British pillows, ensuite with double wash basin, power shower and bath, fresh fruit and South Downs mineral water.
The room was filled with natural light, and at night there were two funky fun lights - one that lit up our headrest and a chandelier!
The wifi was so fast we had to ask Mark about it, he said that it had a boosted signal to make sure that every guest at Nineteen could stream and use a mobile device at the same time!! We've often said we'd happily stay in a barn if it had good wifi, as this is our priority, so it was great to stay in an amazing place and have amazing wifi.
Its thoughtful little touches like this that make a stay at Nineteen so luxurious.
Downstairs we had access to the kitchen with a great selection of teas, coffees and Hob Nob biscuits!
Location
Nineteen is in the perfect location for seeing the sights and for shopping! It's close to everything, yet still manages to miraculously be on a quiet street perfect for a good night's sleep.
The train station is a twenty minute walk away and the coach station less than five, making Nineteen super easy to get to.
Nineteen is less than a stone's throw away from Brighton Beach and the super-tacky (but worth a look) Brighton Pier.
It's also only about seven minutes from my favourite spot: The Royal Pavilion. Construction started in 1787 for George IV. Mark told us that George wanted an Indian-style seaside retreat, but the architect, John Nash, had unfortunately never been to India! Thus the resulting pavilion is more Indo-Saracenic than Indian.
As for shops and cafes we loved the Laines. They are stuffed with super-quirky independent shops and cafes, and are less than ten minutes walk from Nineteen.
Breakfast
Breakfast was unbelievably beautiful and there was such a great selection!! Nineteen offers two options: their traditional continental breakfast or their new addition: the cooked breakfast option.
For the continental breakfast you get to choose your type of tea, coffee, juice, fruit salad, cereals, toast, croissants and milks. We were very impressed not only with the extensive choices, but also with how easily they catered to people with special requirements including, but not limited to, vegan, gluten-free and organic.
Alternatively you can have a cooked breakfast at the charming Morris & Jacques Cafe.
We went for the traditional option, and woke up to fresh coffee, soy milk, fruit salad, cereal, fruit juice and freshly baked croissants which we enjoyed in bed! It was all delicious. We were particularly impressed with the fruit salad - we'd expected a few bits of banana and grape or two and some apple. Instead we were treated to blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, mango, melon and strawberries! Yet again Nineteen went the extra mile!
Further Information
We make daily vlogs on YouTube and of course included the luxurious Nineteen, check out day 166 to see a tour of our room! (starts at 1:44)
Conclusion
We've stayed at many luxury hotels and B&Bs this year, but I can honestly say we've never felt so at home as we did at Nineteen. The combination of comfy room, super-fast wifi, delicious breakfast and lovely owners was a real winner. Being so close to Brighton Beach was another welcome advantage! We highly recommend that you stay here when you come to Brighton.
