Trans Andes Challenge - Stage 1

It was a long journey to get here but we made it and are stoked to be racing our 4th TAC!

Stage 1 (of 6) went pretty smooth…  Mike and I raced really well together today…  Happy to report our first team victory of the season!

Team KENDA/Seven/Stan's NoTubes wins mixed open category.  Day 1

Highlights of the day include an 1.5 hour ferry boat ride across a patagonian lake to get to the start line.  Amazing point to point  thru indigenous forests with stunning landscapes and views of surrounding volcano as we climbed and descended two grande mountains…  64 Km, +/- 6000 feet of climbing in 4 hours 11 minutes… incredibly hot and demanding stage!  Incredible 45 minute descent on newly minted single track back to the the Huilo Huilo nature preserve.    Good vibes with great  staff and international crew of racers.

Recovering by the hour… Stay tuned on Face Book or here (if we can)...  heading to some remote areas next.

Huge thanks to our sponsors, family and friends for making this mission possible!

Salud,
Mary and Mike
